Suppliers and Supply Chain Assurance at VR Industries

The credentials, component controls, and supplier quality requirements behind every VR Industries build, in one place for the teams who qualify us and the companies who supply us.

A Qualified Supplier for Regulated Industries

Choosing a contract manufacturer means trusting every part, process, and partner behind your product. Since 1985, VR Industries has manufactured Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA) and electromechanical integration for medical, defense, industrial, and blue economy customers from our 35,000-square-foot facility in Warwick, Rhode Island.

Internal and external audits are routinely completed to confirm our quality management system performs as documented. In 1996, we became the first contract manufacturer in Rhode Island to achieve ISO 9001 certification.

Component Integrity Starts at Receiving

We purchase materials from approved franchised distributors or directly from the original component or equipment manufacturer, so every program starts with new, authentic parts.

Our incoming procedures capture the original manufacturer’s traceability information before material is ever allowed into the stockroom. Lot and date codes are verified at receiving and carried through to each work order.

Cleanliness Testing Services

Visual Examination

Packaging, lead, and symbolization verification

Electrical Testing

Performance verification of suspect components

High-Resolution X-Ray

Suspect parts compared against a known genuine component

In-Line Electrical Verification

Resistor and capacitor values measured during SMT placement

This x-ray capability has identified counterfeit components within customer-supplied material, protecting those programs before assembly began.

Traceability You Can Audit

Our customized Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system supports material traceability, serialization, and inventory control across every stage of production. Build instructions are detailed, step-by-step, and revision-controlled.
Before any product ships, our final quality control station verifies labeling and serialization. We welcome customer audits, which typically include critical material verification, manufacturing process review, and a general review of ISO quality standards.

Protecting Controlled Technical Data

Our materials management and document control systems are designed to meet the requirements of the defense industry, in line with our ITAR registration. Every engineering and process document change is traceable back to its originating document and maintained in a secured location.
VR Industries is actively pursuing Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2, aligned with the security controls in NIST SP 800-171. We will update this page as our status progresses.

What We Expect From Our Suppliers

Our performance for customers depends on the performance of our own supply base. We score, rank, and monitor our suppliers to identify trends and create solutions before problems arise. Customer and regulatory requirements are flowed down through our purchase orders.
